The Leftists find themselves in an impossible bind. The want to reduce the number of indigenous people in prison but they also want to protect indigenous women from domestic violence and murder.

Better invent a way that it's all just systemic racism. Maybe generational trauma from residential schooling? It's perfect because it's a problem that has no solution but we can still throw billions of dollars at pretending to fix while denying any moral agency to non-white people.
