Hospitalizations and ICU admissions were considerably higher in Ontario during the "third wave" but deaths were lower. Probably because the nursing home residents were vaccinated early and then the 80+ started getting vaccinated in March, then 75-79 March 22nd then 70-74 in late March+. So what you were left with were obese Type II diabetic 60-somethings in the ICU who are fat and unhealthy enough to be hospitalized by COVID but not unhealthy enough to die.
Also Quebec's third wave was very mild compared to Ontario. And Quebec had the most deaths in Canada in the first and second wave. That's why the chart is so skewed.
It's like a roller coaster....every new hill gets slower and lower, must ratchet up those numbers to bring up the next hill....
Because the third TESTING wave isn't represented in deaths.
