Not surprised, majority Indian population in Brampton. Indians do not have the same respect for physical safety that North Americans do. They have three times the amount of traffic fatalities per capita than Canada does, roughly 250,000 vulnerable road users killed every year.
One thing I have noticed is that brown people will not even slightly alter their course when driving past you on a country road. Walking on the shoulder of a wide open country road with no other cars insight, 9/10 times they will almost clip you with their mirrors. Meanwhile all of the locals give you as much room as possible and a friendly wave.

If they want to give you a close shave with their car, throw a rock to remind them that it's not hard to turn their wheel slightly to the left.
