If they can keep the pandemic going forever, they never have to call a federal election.
They can only keep this pandemic going for as long as the Canadian government's credit holds up (all of this pandemic spending is debt). And we're quickly reaching our credit limit as it is.
Fair point, unless the global Great Reset is actually an impending thing.
Just for certain countries that want to erode their currency.
That's actually good news. Trudeau is riding a surge in popularity due to the pandemic. We want that to be over before Canadians go to the polls.
This also robs Trudeau of an excuse to institute mass mail-in voting.
It'll also make him look bad when he inevitably calls an election to avoid his next scandal.
I thought of that too, and that's probably what the opposition is thinking. You're right, there are upsides, but if they decide the pandemic isn't over for ten years, then it's not worth it.
They couldn't do that if they wanted to. The government's credit will run out long before that.
It's simple: He has 100% of the mainstream media carrying water for him.
The demented people LOVE him, the guy could wear blackface, have a medallion on his neck with a picture of him and Epstein hugging, George soros and his superiors all behind him, china pin flag on his suit instead of canadian - AND the dumb fucks would still worship him.
Cheap credit for short term approval. Most businesses haven’t folded, most individuals haven’t gone bankrupt.
We don’t have full vaccination, but by deviating from the manufacturer recommendations to get as many first doses as possible, people have a sense that they’re getting something for themselves.
The majority of media is favorable for Trudeau. Most people don’t understand the WE scandal, or SNC lavalin, or JWR scandal. They have legal weed, and quite frankly Trudeau is better at appealing to a young millennial audience. He has the nicest hair. He has a carbon tax - and most people don’t realize it’s functionally a wealth redistribution tax.
The majority don’t look too deeply at anything besides headlines and surface level coverage. Most people aren’t reading the national post. More people than ever get their information from the national subreddit.
The reality is that gibs buys votes.
This reads to me like it's just a statement, like a UN Resolution. "Parliament says that the government has a responsibility to avoid triggering an election during the pandemic." Doesn't seem to actually have the force of law behind it.
Easy. The non-Liberal MPs see Trudeau as untouchable during the pandemic. So rather than campaign and hand him a majority, they get to hold on to power indefinitely, and then have a chance to unseat him later.
