Based on weather alone no Canadian city should be in the top 30 or 40.
I don’t mind the snow or the cold - in moderation. The problem for me is Montreal, where I am from, has too long of a stretch of crap weather. From November to May you never know what to expect. And Jan and Feb with the sun setting so early, and it being cold, is just too depressing. And the slush and poor snow clearing etc. it’s just miserable.
I lived for many years in NYC. The winters were so much better.
And other places get snow without the ridiculous cold.
I’ve lived in the tropics for 25 years and love it. But I travel enough so I can enjoy all sorts of weather on my terms. Much better for me.
Indeed. And that’s what I get now, when I want it. I am not subjected to months of shit weather. I come, enjoy it for a month or two, and leave. Much better.
You are right. Thats a big part of it. It starts on arrival at the airport in Montreal. Like arriving in a french third world city, except with bad weather.
