MFW mod and pals can't debate me honestly in good faith and resort to preschool insults instead.

I think Ham has unclear or differing definitions within the rules. For example if someone is banned for racist language, I'm not sure if I agree with Ham's definition. Ham has political acumen and understanding, though I think some of his reasoning can be illogical. So I disagree with a lot of his opinions. The issue is whether that translates to moderation or if Ham can keep his opinions separate from his rules. I think mostly he can. I'm not as confident of that when I see him fail to argue/reason honestly and truthfully. Ham often applies labels to those he disagrees with, and uses his understanding of that label to generalize the individual. This is lazy thinking, and it is fallacious and dangerous. So does this kind of thinking exist outside of just his opinions and influence his moderation?
Me as well!
I think it's a flaw that he can be spiteful but I don't think it's intentional. He can still learn and change. In some ways he's just being immature.
I think this is true, that he becomes less rational when agitated. Don't forget he has a big target on his back, all sorts of people shit him, deservedly so and not. That doesn't excuse bad moderation, but considering all the abuse hurled at him he really must be very patient (ability to argue fairly or not).
I abstained. He has issues, but he prevents the forum from deteriorating into garbage. Every moderator walks a line, and though Ham wobbles he mostly stays on course. Discussions are still possible. This is a relatively active forum for Canadian issues outside of the mainstream technosphere, Omega plays an important role in counteracting mainstream narratives and censorship. For Omega to become like VOAT would be a disaster for freedom of information for Canada. When the level of discourse falls so does the utility. If Ham resigns. then what happens? That risks this forum entirely.
Agreed. This is what I mean about how often Ham labels people and ideas.
I hope they can prevent the VOAT downward spiral of quality of discourse and maintain free speech. Interesting to contrast how it compares.
Yes. See VOAT. Garbage. Circle jerk jew hate for internet points. I think that's what Ham wants to prevent. And though I agree he's not perfect I don't really see him as that bad. Still I've not been to FreeCanada, so I'll check it out.
I see a lot of meta-drama and Canadian news and memes.
