It pays to have parties eating into your opponent's votes from both ends at the same time. Not to mention the demoralization a civil war creates among that party's base.
The Liberals have the NDP, the Greens and the Bloc (all parties with far more support than the PPC) which try to "eat their votes" and yet they still can easily win elections. If the CPC isn't able to handle even one party with support in the lower single digits to their right, they maybe don't deserve to win.

They're in opposition half of the time, even though Canada is like 70% left-wing. Reason being, they have the NDP Greens and Bloc to compete with. If not for those parties eating away at the LPC's left flank, Conservatives would never have a turn at governing in this country. And now the PPC is providing that same service for the LPC.
If not for these parties left of the LPC, Canada wouldn't move to the left. It's because the LPC has to compete with the NDP, the Greens and the Bloc that you see the LPC adopting more and more ideas of the far left.
And now the PPC is providing that same service for the LPC.
That's how democracy works. If a 1.6% party is somehow able to deny you a win, you are the problem and not the 1.6% party.
If a 1.6% party is somehow able to deny you a win, you are the problem and not the 1.6% party.
That a nonsensical statement. Plenty of elections are close. In those cases, it's better if there isn't some hopeless joke party of retards pointlessly siphoning critical points off of your right flank.
