In Canada, only 4.6% of all civil unions are interracial ones. So why does it seem like the majority of couples in television shows and commercials are interracial?
The black population only makes up 3.5% of our country's population. Yet again, it is common to see black people make up half of a newsrooms crew of anchors.
The list goes on to include the gay community, disabled people, Muslims, feminists, Natives, etc.
If you ever wondered why corporations politically pander to such small demographics understanding ESG’s will help explain it.
One of the more concerning aspects of this all is how the democratic process has been over looked in Canada by politicians to pander to these small fringe groups. In the last few years, the loud and often violent minority groups have gotten what they demanded out of politicians over the voting and silent majority. Example: Seven in ten people said they think John A. Macdonald's name and image should stay in public view while just 11 per cent of respondents think it should be removed. Yet statues are being taken down and streets and institutions renamed.
Corporations are somewhat open about their use of ESGs and we would be crazy to think politicians don’t subscribe to the same system.
Japanese people have the highest rate of interracial unions of visible minorities in Canada. South Asians have the lowest rate.
From my observations South Asians are also the least likely to integrate into Canadian society and adopt Canadian culture, often segregating themselves to their own kind. Where Japanese culture is similar to Canadian and easily adopted and integrated.
Whether you like interracial unions or not, it is a sign of certain cultures not integrating into our own. Multiculturalism is a failed experiment, yet the government keeps bringing in cultures who are the least likely to assimilate at alarming rates. The more that come, the less likely integration will be. More enclaves will form, Brampton in now majority South Asian.
