Then why is Bernier trailing him by like 26%?
Let's try this: Name one time in Canadian history that a startup party (by which I mean any party other than the Liberals or the Conservatives) has won a federal election.
Here the list:

Notice anything there? Spoiler: Every single election in Canadian history has been won by either the Liberals or the Conservatives (under their various names). And it will always be that way.
The reason for this is simple, though no matter how many times I try to explain this to you guys, you refuse to grasp basic reality and instead choose to cling to your naive wishful thinking that the PPC will somehow be the first 3rd party in history to come from behind and take an election. Anyone who understands electoral politics know this can never happen.
Why? Because (unlike the PPC) real parties have things called policy conventions every year and leadership elections every few years. This allows the party's constituents to choose the party's priorities which keeps party up to date with public opinion. So that means if the PPC's (or any 3rd party's) ideas were ever popular enough to win an election on, a major party would be running on them. That is the whole point of a party governing itself democratically. That is why everyone (but you) knows that if you if you want change, you have to effect it from within the party. You can't do it by starting up new parties because new parties can't win.
But go ahead and keep ignoring this fundamental truth about electoral politics in favour of wishful thinking. Keep banging your head off of that wall for the rest of your life because you refuse to understand reality.
When you end your comment with:
...it tends to lead the other person to the worst possible interpretation.
They have no chance in hell ever. Just like the Green party have no chance in hell ever.
I'm tired of trying to explain to you guys why every election in history has been won by the Liberals or the Conservatives, and startup parties/3rd parties never win. So here.
