Wonder why no one thought to take a wide angle shot with their smartphone to show the 100's of thousands that must have been there to make it front page news in Calgary and Edmonton?

People are too lazy to think for themselves, and would rather the government do it for them.

If only they worked in government and realized how incompetent the institution is.

There was an interesting bloģ post about this a while back. The author suggested that people who believe there is a benevolent government/higher power that's looking out for them, despite the obvious corruption at small scales, belive so because they have not grown up. They simply haven't progressed past the childhood experience of benevolent parents.
