CHARGES LAID FOLLOWING MOBILE PHONE STORE ROBBERY IN VAUGHAN
Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau have charged three people following a mobile phone store robbery in the City of Vaughan.
On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police were called to a mobile phone store located at 1480 Major Mackenzie Drive West, for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they found an employee who was not physically injured. Investigators learned that three suspects, one of whom was armed with a knife, entered the store and demanded phones and cash. The employee complied and the suspects fled in a vehicle.
A short time later, officers in the York Regional Police helicopter Air2 located the suspect vehicle and followed it to the area of Williams Parkway and Rutherford Road North in the City of Brampton. The suspects fled into backyards in the area. With the assistance of officers from Peel Regional Police, all three suspects were taken into custody and have been charged.
