What I've learned over the last few years is an army of any size cant protect you from your own citizens voting for stupid. Doesn't matter if we get nuclear submarines or not our problems aren't going away any time soon and will only get worse since the average person is ok with enhanced covid measures and is incapable of seeing the magnitude of bullshit right in front of their face.
