tbh at this point there's not much point trying to save the CPC to stop the LPC. You're better off voting your conscience and trying to build up a new party that you actually like.
I want to follow my conscience but in an emergency I'll eat a baby if need be. We have to get Trudeau out of office NOW, at whatever cost. Max will still be there tomorrow, Justin CAN'T be.
Come on, you can't think that Trudeau wouldn't be any worse than O'Toole? With Singh propping his government up? Does the PCC really have a chance of forming government? It's a shit sandwich sure but we can choose how big a bite we take.
Really? you don't think it's because most of Canada is leftist and most of the ridings are in major cities where those leftists live?
If Sloan was to run as PM right now he would lose horribly and the media would burn him. Canada is no longer what it used to be, you have to adapt and CPC is trying really hard but Max is not helping.
We need someone with balls. If Rob Ford can win mayor of Toronto anything can happen. People loved him because he told it like it is. The media hated him and he mopped the floor with the lefty.
Actually I say the leftist media hounded Rob Ford so much that they caused (or exacerbated) his cancer, they literally killed him. And here's a question, why is every fucking thing in Toronto named after Jack Layton, who was not a Toronto native and never mayor, while Rob Ford, a Toronto native and very popular mayor has nothing named after him, the left are really bastards.
Ford was the original Trump he was loved so much his worthless brother became premier. There's an appetite for people like him, he absolutely mobilized the working class vote and got voted in by the ethnic minorities of the outer suburbs like Scarborough and Etobicoke.
Doug won almost all of Scarborough. It can happen just need the right person for the job.
I agree if you're in a rare riding that is a CPC LP lC toss up, probably strategically makes sense to go CPC. Any other riding, probably most of them aren't just go with your values.
The PPC can't influence the outcome more than a couple ridings, but if NDP supporters feel that the CPC could win the election they may (or already have) vote(d) strategically. They have much more power to "crown" Trudeau. Not to mention disillusioned Greens.
We need to break from the two party system thinking. Thats why we have other parties. Idgaf about Max's perceived vanity.. Do you think Trump isnt vain!?
Key difference between Trump and Bernier: Trump was capable of winning because he was the nominee for a real party. He would never have won as an independent or a fringe party candidate.
Bernier will never, ever win. Every election in Canadian history without exception has been won by one of the two major parties. Banking on the PPC being the first party in Canadian history to buck this trend is about as realistic as banking on winning the lottery to provide for your retirement.
You need to come back to the real world. If you want change, it has be effected through the CPC. That means you attending policy conventions, voting in leadership elections and campaigning for your preferred leadership candidates. If you're not willing to do any of that, don't complain about the direction the CPC is taking.
you forgot why the PPC was formed in the first place, they are corrupt and screwed over actual conservatives with their policies and that joke of a candidate andrew sheer
I heard some say they rather continue with Trudeau, to stick it to O'Toole because he has become too left, than vote strategically and get Trudeau out. Unbelievable.
Nooooooo you can't vote for an a party with actual principles, you have to vote for the party that's becoming exactly like the party you hate to keep the party you hate from winning!
We don't have and frankly don't want a two-party system like the USA. I would rather have a Parliament with several parties with somewhat clear differences hashing it out rather than two umbrella parties representing the left and right engaged in an eternal power struggle. The FPTP system has to change, though, or at least some modification made to allow for people to vote for all eligible parties even if they don't run a candidate in a riding.
Changing FPTP in the Commons would doom us to permanent lefty governments. 30% of Canadians vote Liberal regardless, 20% NDP and 30% Tory, with that distribution there would be no reason to have a Parliament, just give the government over to the Comrades. But if do want more proportional representation just put it in the Senate.
Yep that's the left, they say they want "fair representation" which means more lefties, but if there is a chance the right might get more representation, no fucking way.
O'Toole doesn't care about their votes so why should they vote for him? He could have tried but decided liberal votes are worth more the effort.

Well if that's your opinion but frankly I can't see anyone worse than Justin.

I never met Rob Ford but I did meet Doug once, and I did not like the vibe I got from him. Frankly I think the wrong Ford died young.
The Cathedral is getting nervous.

The PPC needs to merge, conservative voters are getting screwed by Bernier's ego.

Max is willing to sink the whole ship because he can't be the captain.

This is the defeatist attitude of angry incels.
Those incels need to get laid.
Exactly, look at the polls, it's not like the gain in PPC is a direct loss to the conservatives
Because PPC is far right and CPC is centre right.
Same accusation made about the Reform Party. How did that work out?
Did they have anything like this on the Reform party?

This is not a solution. Never give up, never surrender. We need to unite the right under one banner.

Maybe but I was reading a reddit discussion where they were shitting themselves that a PR system would result in 20 or so PPC seats.
