The CPC only has itself to blame. If they want to win an election, let alone a majority, they need to find a way of appealing to 40% to 50% of Canadians without alienating some of there more socially and fiscally conservative supporters. And again you can't assume that every PPC voter would have voted for the CPC instead.
It would help if they would win more seats in the Maritimes. It doesn't help the party when Westerners keep referring to Maritimers as lazy welfare bumbs.
I voted for the conservatives but can't really think of how anything would be different right now if they had won.
Would still have carbon tax, still have covid mandates, still be bowing to china's whim, maybe by the end of their first term they might promise some changes, but everything they would try and do until then would get held up by the LPC and NDP.

Peter McKay would have beat Trudeau but O'Toole was too busy being a fake conservative to win the nomination.
