I'm in Canada and the same thing has been happening here. We bought our home for 250k about nine years ago. The houses on our street now sell for 500-700k.
Same here. A number of houses are occupied by "Chinese students" driving expensive SUVs. My neighbors moved in next door, in a $600k house (minimum, we took care of it between sales). They are older. No income, no job. Nice enough, but no obvious means of earning a dime. Half the real estate signs are in Chinese. House sell here before they are even completed, usually just a hole in the gound with no foundations yet.
