I would be miserable living deep in the woods by myself, I actually enjoy living in the city. I also happen to think if there is any sort of disaster, the cities will be the first place where aid will come. I saw it during the pandemic, delivery trucks would ignore small town stores and drive right by to prioritize the big cities. If you want to be able to sustain yourself during a crisis, either go full rural with knowledge on canning, a small farm and a greenhouse, several generators, a well, plenty of food in storage, guns and ammo to fend off the looters, and plenty of wildlife, or go full city, if you're in between you will be fucked.
