On the one hand you're right Trudeau ended up with more power. But on the other hand, that may be his undoing. The image that was projected here was one of peaceful protestors with bouncy castles and dance parties getting stomped by Trudeau's storm troopers - all because they dared to ask for their fundamental freedoms back. I feel like that's how history is going to look on this. He's already drawing widespread international criticism. Bill Maher even said he's starting to sound like Hitler.
A week or two ago I was concerned that the longer the protestors stayed, the more the public would back Trudeau. But I think the awful images of Trudeau's cavalry stomping disabled elderly women more than negated any political gain Trudeau may have claimed from a 'victory' here. He did not gain any prestige from this. The whole thing was a PR disaster for the Trudeau government from start to finish.
I was also worried that it was only a matter of time before the protestors got violent with the police and gave the MSM all the ammo they needed to call them "violent insurrectionists" but that day never came. Except for a few shitheads at the beginning with swastikas and confederate flags, the protestors came out of this looking good. lt was a peaceful protest that got attacked by Trudeau's thugs. That's the headline here.
So against all odds, this actually seemed to turn out reasonably well. That's not how I thought it would go.
At the end of the day tough, all that matters is the bottom line. And in that respect, it's hard to deny that the protest got something done.
A lot of pundits are saying this will be the end of Trudeau - that he'll resign before the next election. It's a little early to tell now, but it deficiently feels like we've reached a turning point with this government. They're on the downslope.
Trudeau/his goons were desperate to see some sort of violence from the protestors even threatening to seize and euthanize trucker's pets to call child services on trucker's families. How slimy is that and people living in Ottawa complaining about the noise are fine with that. They wanted a fight and they didn't give them anything, which I'm relieved about.
But next election we will see the same bullshit, NDP voters too scared to vote NDP and let the evil Trump loving/abortion denying/white nationalist/neo nazi loving Pierre Pollievre win, so they will vote Trudeau. It's always the same bullshit. Hopefully Pierre is loved in Quebec so that might help shave some votes off the bloc. Canadians are easily distracted no one even mentions M-103 anymore.
To be honest I'm undecided on this one.

Hopefully I'm wrong and you're right.
