What exactly is the story anyway? That the truckers took advantage of him or promised him $ and didn't deliver? It clearly reads that he voluntarily did this. It's sad that this dude seems to be a scammer.
No the real story here is that CBC is still trivially manipulated into publishing lies and pushing completely biased narratives. #defundcbc
So let's be clear on this point as this is defined by international law and treaties and established in human rights.
A LEGAL occupation: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupation_(protest) which would NOT justify national emergency is much like the George Floyd or occupy protests. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capitol_Hill_Occupied_Protest
Nobody called in the national guard to take the CHOP area back. They did overthrew the government and occupied even a police precinct. Not to mention tremendous amounts of violence. Yet even CHOP did not qualify as illegal.
For the CHOP protest or Ottawa protest to become ILLEGAL and justify state of an emergency like what Doug Ford or Trudeau did... it has to be a different kind of occupation.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_occupation
Military or belligerent occupation, often simply occupation, is provisional control by a ruling power over a territory, without a claim of formal sovereignty.
When the Canadian media portrayed the protest as a nazi confederate hate convoy looking to overthrow the government. Doug Ford believed it to be a military occupation.
If the protest was in truth a nazi confederate military occupation to overthrow the government. Then absolutely. It would be illegal and a national emergency would be justified.
This is a very important distinction. Trudeau clearly failed to prove this protest was trying to overthrow the government. They were there for weeks with bouncy castles and never quite got around to doing the insurrection thing.
The protesters' internationally confirmed human rights were clearly violated. This was absolutely not some sort of insurrection to justify ending the legitimate protest.
Ultimately the bell has been rung. The right-wing no longer have the right to peaceful protest in Canada.
