Actually, it's just another day in the US. On average about 50 people die from gunfire every day there, and that's not counting suicides.

If the shooter does turn out to be trans - it's not clear yet - keep in mind there are about about 1.3 million adults identifying as transgender in the US.

It's not surprising if one of them got upset and shot someone.
