In the US it's literally a slavery pipeline - segregated neighborhoods lead to a bunch of poor minority populations, which are policed way heavier and way harsher than other gentrified places, so black or aboriginal people are sentenced for longer, and more and more poeple grow up without their parents and after school programs aren't funded so there's nothing to do but engage in the necessary but avoidable counter culture. This is just a broad example but the point stands: liberals think this system is a-ok, and are also fine with Biden bypassing congress to give millions in bombs to genocide palistine, where settlers (because they were bombing people and moving in) are now committing terrorism on the West Bank just because the system allows it.
If leftists had their way, there would be wide swaths of changes to a bunch of things we take for granted, because we don't individually believe we can change the system so it's just accepted that the world sucks in a lot of ways.
I started a new job with 12 hour days because I need to support my motorcycle addiction so mb for not engaging
Liberals by definition are left of conservatives, but in the general spectrum they're more centrist. It really depends on how much one believes in upending the status quo for the betterment of humanity.
Leftists aren't in charge, liberals are in charge and it's the ineffective fuckabouting they do because they don't want to actually change things in sweeping ways, they want people to do their jobs until they die because they value capitalism more than human progress.
> The simplest distinction between liberals and leftists is that liberals support capitalism and want to make changes within it, while leftists vouch for an alternative economic system entirely. liberals don't believe in prison abolitionism, for example. They think if we throw enough money at the system it can be reformed into something not terrible, and cops are a reasonable answer to a bunch of problems, jail is reasonable etc. Our current and especially the US's system exist to keep the status quo and as a threat to squash out dissent that isn't profitable. They originally came about explicitly to control the Aboriginal people, and you can see it today in how Native people are targeted in many ways, even just for murder like the "starlight tours" in Saskatchewan
