I'm going to be pulling the plug on alot of garbage internet services (Facebook, YouTube, Google Chrome, etc.) I'm debating on getting rid of my smartphone. A used blackberry might be an option. Or maybe I should just keep my smartphone? Either way the government could track the cell signal if shit gets to that extreme.

Ive never owned a smartphone. I use a Nokia 3310 (2017 edition).
Nokia makes some of the best bullet proof phones. I'd want something with a qwerty keypad atleast but damned are new phones like that hard to come by. It's either flip phones, open faced phones ( I don't know the official term for the style of your Nokia) or smart phones. I'll stick with my Android phone for now I guess.
You would have to get rid of your chipped ID card, bank card, credit card, loyalty cards; rip out all the electronics in your car and who knows what else.
Our phones are only the tip of the iceberg.
My largest problem with shartphones is that they're absolutely packed with functions that have nothing at all to do with what I want the thing for. My next phone is going to be one of those bare-bones things that makes calls and NOTHING else.
You raise a good point. I had a feeling either way I'd be damned. I thought of the fact most stores have cameras too. No escaping from technology. Guess I'll embrace the good and ditch the bad. I'll stick with my Android phone for now. Still might get a basic phone. It would be good to limit my distractions lol.
6 months in without a cellphone.
Transitioned my number to a landline with a physical answering machine.
Top of the line desktop computer for emails / videoconference.
Productivity went through the roof now that I get to focus on what's really important.
Hmmmm maybe I should try a month leaving my cell at home. I really do want to become more productive.
