He makes a shit ton of bucks from small independent companies advertising. Those companies are very very numerous and derive a TON of value selling through FB. The major retailers are major pussies and can be pushed off their spot by activists. Zucc could really care less if Johnson & Johnson and the like are running scared.
Something along the way may have opened his eyes a little that society needs to be open, that debate, discussion and disagreement are needed because people will never all view things the same way. He also might just feel the tides are shifting, the pendulum is on the edge of swinging back, and he doesn't want to get left behind. Or it is none of that... just Trump and the GOP getting really pissed at all the censorship might have been enough to scare him into supporting sane free speech policies. Seems twitter/reddit/others want to keep poking the sleep giant though.
Trump is threatening to nuke section 230 protection for large social media sites. Last I heard large meant 30m unique US visitors in a year or 300m international visitors in a year. (Twitter, FB, Reddit, Twitch, etc.) That means they go from platform to publisher, and suddenly become liable for every post or comment. So if bad actors post illegal shit, it becomes very expensive.
Don't know if it will happen or not. Still, Zuck's visibly afraid of something, so he's making a show of being pro-free speech.
How is it that I'm liking Zuckerberg... what is going on?

He said that he wouldn't. But then FB did. So, factor that into your equations, I guess.
Does this prick ever take off his stupid hat, he reminds me of Meg from family guy.
