90% chance he's getting my vote come next election. As far as I can tell he's be on point with almost everything. Mad Max has been quick to point out the bullshit and (atleast to my knowledge someone fill me in if I'm wrong) hasn't backed down from his beliefs/stances on issues. He's a Patriot with a backbone. We need a leader like that. Unless the Conservatives can pull their heads out of their asses then I'd give them a vote.
With all the infighting and bullshit that's going on with the Conservative party I just don't see it. I like Derek Sloan, and Leslyn Lewis. That said the party didn't like Sloan having a backbone (The Dr. Tam incident) and Leslyn has been pushed to the side (and is kind of a weak speaker too.) So if Mckay or O'Toole gets in we are going to have another Liberal Lite™ party.
It sucks that Canada's right wing is so fractured. We got Cons, PPC, and the Wexit Party. I get that the Conservative party has been popular in the past, and will more than likely be the biggest contender against the Libs in the next election. But fuck it! I'm voting on the best option I like. If I voted for who I think is going to win the election rather than on the party I like I might as well vote fucking Liberal. I think that's the biggest problem in this Country. If every citizen sat down for AT LEAST 8 hours (an average work shift) and did solid research on political parties (what they have done/said in the past) their platforms (and what those platforms achieve in reality. Exampe: Increasing taxes on the rich sounds great on paper. In France they did it and all the rich people fled. Causing more issues than solving them.) then this Country would be in fantastic shape.
Time will tell, maybe the Cons will pull their heads out of their asses and I'll flip back. Maybe we will get a coalition government with the Cons and PPC (doubtful but not impossible.) Maybe WEXIT will happen and most of Western Canada becomes it's own nation or joins the U.S. There are so many things that can happen. Do what you think is best. I'm not going to judge anyone negatively for doing so. This infighting on here isn't helping though. That's what the lefties want. Divide and conquer. Maybe all of us on Omega Canada should email/mail letters to all right wing parties and get them put their bullshit petty differences aside and work together? Just a thought.
I'm actually right of center in terms of my political leaning by the way. What I was trying to get at is that the Conservatives need a GOD DAMN SPINE. They don't need to radically change their stances. They need to stick to the stances they already have and stop bending the knee to the left wing nut jobs. The left wing nut jobs ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR THEM NO MATTER WHAT! They may get some swing votes but then they also lose the people like me who normally vote Conservative. So what are they accomplishing?
I get that sometimes in life you got to compromise on what you want. I'm not so pig headed to believe that one party is the answer no mater what. The one thing I'm not going to compromise on is a weak leader though. If either Sloan or Leslyn become the leader of the Cons and THEY ARE FIRM ON THEIR STANCES. Then I will compromise and vote for them. At the end of the day I just want a strong leader that is best for the country.
Man I don't know you personally. I have no beef with you personally. Vote for who ever you want. Make fun of me if you want, I don't care man. I'll fight for your right to freedom of speech. Win or lose I've got a set of beliefs that are coming with me to my grave.
OmegaCanadian, but not a Canadian (UK native here). I like Max, but first-past-the-post is always a mountain to climb. I think if he focuses on one or two pressure points (immigration is an obvious choice), he at the very least can score wins from forcing the hand of the established Conservatives.
This was the UKIP tactic and it worked well in the end, but it depended on the Tories being the "natural party of government" in the UK, and Labour heartlands also being tempted by UKIP messaging. I'm not sure how the Liberal vote breaks down in Canada, but I'm assuming you don't have sufficient petty-bourgeois types for that on its own to carry an election for them, and that the old Left of the industrial heartlands is going to be very much in play for a movement in the economic centre and social right.
Maxime has all the right policy positions to MCGA but he lacks the personal charisma and star power that top level politicians capitalize on, like a Trump, Boris Johnson, Putin and I'll throw in Chretien here because even though he had a horrible accent, his personality overcame it.
Max could overcome this if he worked his ass off but he's a bit lazy. People elect leaders not policy positions. If Max wants it, he needs to work his ass of by getting in front of the people. He needs to continually traverse the country, getting in front of the people and earning it. Day after day, week after week, flight after flight he needs to get out there and make himself known to the people, earn their respect as a hard worker and earn the position. If he doesn't do this, he hasn't a hope. He'll always just be seen as just another politician.
He should try to charge a huge base out West. He should work tirelessly to break into Alberta and Saskatchewan's blue-collar workers (which is a lot of fucking people). I feel Alberta definitely influences the west the most - A lot of Albertans travel to/from British Columbia. Vancouver being a "Liberal stronghold" would be tough, but turn the rest of the province purple.... probably still not enough though.
but he didn't understand who he was calling to with his talk of anti-Globalism and anti-political correctness
So then you keep your mouth shut? and join the established Left philosophy of Political Correctness and Globalism?
Makes no sense. You have to be vocal against these things for Canadian interests.
If the bad apples fall into the basket because we're going against political correctness, then so be it.
No speech should be prohibited. That inherently helps problematic people speak their minds. So we should have no freedom of speech because these idiots want to be Neo Nazi's or whatever?
Clearly not.
"Thus do always what you should, consider no longer when... But in all moments rise for good, be among the Hero's of men... Be called as one who stood."
Moderate conservatives just end up being leftist in the end. It's better for true conservatives to band together and form our own communities that are completely separate from the leftists. To stand together and combat the authoritarianism of the left and preserve our values as a community. If our politicians never get in then so be it. Eventually leftist society will collapse and we'll be here strong ready to save their unsustainable division of hatred.
How are you ever going to know something works if you never try to?
It's predominantly Leftist and Far Left because that's the Global pivot to the New World Order.
When the new norm of the Left in Canada becomes pedophilia by normalizing Far Left philosophy, like with the German authorities, are you going to continue to go along with it?
Vocal Patriot but bad PR. Whether we like it or not, democracy is just a popularity contest and Mad Max managed to alienate himself from the normies. His ideas would work better through someone else.
Thank you for your insight, I think your perspective is right on the money.
Hopefully within the 21st century these cycles you speak of go along with the "quickening"...

I worked with the Party closely, and I of course voted for the Party.
I believe, at the moment the only pathways to Right Wing Government is through the People's Party of Canada.
He's the only politician speaking on behalf of Canadian interests...
You're still on with blaming the underdog?
Dude, Scheer flopped the Cons race... It's too bad but that's the reality. The blame is solely on the weak Conservatives.
How am I doing that by simply asking people their opinion?
I'm curious.
I was never a PPC spammer on Metacanada, I'm not gonna be one on this forum either, because I have respect.
Don't be a dringus.
I don't know why you're so opposed to a Party speaking for a "Canada First" approach.
With all the infighting and bullshit that's going on with the Conservative party I just don't see it. As time goes on and the left wing extremists become more radical, as the economy tanks, and our culture circles the drain we are seeing average people become red pilled. They are going to look at people like Pussy Mckay, (who's leading in the leadership race as far as I know) and Maxime Bernier. Canadians are going to see things like this. Where Max is out with the people, standing by his beliefs.
Where as McKay will run at first signs of backlash.
Your stats are interesting. This is anecdotal evidence but before the PPC party and WEXIT party came about could you name one of these other right wing parties? I've never seen any news, social media or even any yard signs of these parties before. Not the same case for the PPC (which is brand new.) I saw a few yard signs in my town last election. What I'm getting at is if nobody knows these parties exist then of course no one is going to vote for them.
I get that sometimes in life you got to compromise on what you want. He needs to win Quebec first. Without that he has no legitimacy in the west.

Mad Max pretty much won the conservative nomination, but it's Canada so...
PPC votes would split the Conservative vote and elect JT.
Bernier did so badly I was shocked. Was his wipeout due to splitting fear?
I worked closely with the Party and voted for them.
I'm expecting to do the same in the future.
Always a next time! It was fun. I got to meet a lot of like minded people, and I had the privilege of being with some really special people.
I was at the event with Dave Rubin in Hamilton, got to see a small group of Antifa. It was interesting to say the least.
Yeah, but a sure way to lose a Game is by not playing it at all...
We have no choice but to at least try to vote.
