Corey Hurren was identified as the Canadian Armed Forces member from Bowsman, Man., who was arrested in Ottawa. Police say he was armed and had gained access to the grounds at Rideau Hall early Thursday morning.
The RCMP said Friday that Hurren faces 22 criminal charges, including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and uttering threats.
So he had guns and being in the armed forces had some training on how to use them. This wasn't just some hood rat that rolled up at Rideau Hall. So yes he could have done some serious damage.
Dude, if you take your .22 rifle and shoot cans at 100 feet every third weekend, you have twice the firearms training of 90% of reservist and regular armed forces personnel (excluding infantry).
And I am being generous. Annual training, with about 30 rounds per head is "some training"?
Holy fuck. He could have done some serious damage. Man this will be an interesting story to play out.
Serious damage? The guy is one peg below a reservist, works at the meat counter in a coop store.
