I escaped from Ontario to Europe about a month ago (I have a dual citizenship). Upon arrival in Europe I was not even asked to quarantine. Where I am everything is back to normal and you wouldn't even know covid was a thing if it wasn't for having to wear masks on public transport. But that's it, otherwise bars full, stores packed, gyms, pools open etc. I was gonna stay here working remotely for another month or so until Ontario prison reopens. It's costing me a fortune and im spending my savings since I'm still paying all my bills back in Canada. Now I find out they fucking extended quarantine orders after arrival till August 31st. Wtf?? I was gonna go back at some point hoping things would normalize, give up my apartment, move in with a friend for a while to save money and since my company has allowed us to work remotely 50% of a time travel some more to the US or Central America...now I won't be able to cos I would have to stay in for 2 weeks every time I return. Have they lost their minds? Everywhere is opening up, airspace is opening, countries wave quarantine for people who can provide negative covid tests etc and they are extending it for another 2 months?? Is there a way to avoid that somehow?

Well THAT would explain the 300 dollars in my account this morning. Twice what GST should have been for me.
See how quickly quarantine would end if they stopped sending out CERB. Enough already. Sad!
Doesn't it take like 2-3 days to get covid-19 testing results? Why would you need to quarantine for 14 days instead of just getting testing done. This whole situation is beyond logical.
I need to be back in Canada physically before that to get stuff sorted. I know I can say im going to quarantine and then don't but aren't they doing police checks?
If it costing you money I would treat it as a risk/benefit similar to a speeding ticket. Checks do happen but a warning usually comes first, someone correct me if I'm wrong but in all of Canada only a handful of actual fines have been given out total.
Yes only one from what I. Know
They take you address and have police come and do random checks
