In virtually every 3rd world nation, HCQ is available over the counter as an anti malarial. These countries have the lowest covid numbers in the world. This and previous tests and approvals of HCQ for Corona viruses in the 90s (SARS) is what prompted the successful French study for covid treatment with HCQ during the first outbreak in France this year.

Last year I was on a trial of Plaquinil (HCQ brand name) for arthritis. At that time rheumatologists were handing it out like tic tacs due to the low incidence of side effects. I stopped when Blue cross approved a much more expensive alternative. This year I lost that coverage so asked my Doctor (the same one who had initially prescribed HCQ) to put me back on it. He refused and ended up literally yelling NO at me.

What changed? Liberal governments have locked this very cheap drug down in the western world and are denying their citizens the right to access it for any reason.
