I was amazed that Trudeau escaped the SNC-Lavalin affair. It seemed for a second there like he was gone and that Freeland would be PM that second but Rodriguez whipped the party hard enough to nip that in the bud.
There is no way this isn't an internal coup. Surely the Liberals must be noticing that the party is popular and faces very little in the way of opposition for the time being, but that the Leader is not and that there's a very easy way to get rid of Trudeau and his elite loyal buddies like Morneau, Joly and O'Regan.
Trudeau could very well be out as LPC leader shortly; this smells like an internal coup.
Freeland also seems the type to fall into the same mental trap as Martin.
Canadians aren't known to have a great amount of love for backstabbers.
I would laugh so hard if our first and second woman PM's had a sum total of 1 day facing Parliament between them and that could very well happen.
