Never forget that Jesse Brown would be homeless had he not ginned up those bitter ex-didn't-even-get-to-be-girlfriends for sake of his Patreon causing the Ghomeshi affair.
I don't trust him, his work on the WE foundation has been outstanding but as far as I can tell, it's the first time and even then I worry about the source.
You'd have to go back to the original deleted Ghomeshi facebook post. Apparently they knew each other and had issues.
The story essentially goes that Jesse Brown started the Canadaland podcast and its patreon wasn't doing so well so he started investigating the shit out of Ghomeshi because he had a long history of fucking everything that moved.
He attracted attention including another reporter that Ghomeshi pissed-off, got some prominence, and most importantly got some funding.
Of course, as we all know from the trial that Jesse Brown had stumbled upon an angry woman who thought she was going to be his girlfriend but was rejected, and was out for revenge. As it turned out more than a couple of women had been rejected by Ghomeshi and were out for revenge. There was a facebook chat, it was shocking and apparently racist as well (Toronto women, eh? Their real side always comes out when they're mad.)
Allegedly.
Ghomeshi hasn't worked since but it seems that Jesse Brown is out of his tabloid phase and actually doing real reporting because his work on the WE scandal has been pretty decent.
It's an interesting turn-of-events.
I guess the lesson of all this is don't be a smug, arrogant prick of a diversity hire and use your fame to shit on all the little people and fuck every woman you see because it might come back to bite you in the ass.
It's hard to forgive Jesse Brown for that shit. Jian Ghomeshi may have been a prick but he certainly didn't deserve to be known worldwide as Canada's feminist rapist.
Allegedly.
