Were mostly in agreement, I'm against mandatory masks. But not masks in general, which is probably what you meant anyways as you seem pro-freedom/liberty which is really what we need more of. I'm just saying without reliable data it's more moral/safer to wear the mask without being forced to. Might even be able to sway some leftys to the right by showing concern independent of the states orders.
Depending on what you do for work you should be able to flat out say no, but I got a few people with underlying health issues in the office I work with, so I wear the mask just in case when I'm within 6 ft.
I work from home. It's stuff like mandatory masks at a gym, at a restaurant (doesn't even make sense) and walking outside that will get my blood boiling. If we're going to make them mandatory anywhere the only place they should be is grocery stores. I'll begrudgingly support that if I have to but everything else is a joke.
The reality is that the effectiveness of masks is highly questionable anyway the government really shouldn't be regulating anything to do with them. Most of the studies that test masks effectiveness and have a "they work" result, are ones in which people were coughing. The studies where people weren't coughing show statistically insignificant benefits to wearing surgical masks. If you have symptoms you should be wearing a mask but if you have symptoms you shouldn't be out at restaurants, bars, gyms, etc... Why should 99% of the population be forced to wear masks instead of focusing on the 1% of people who have symptoms that are engaging in bad behaviors such as going to the gym with symptoms? Also, keep in mind going to the gym even with a surgical mask and coughing still has a high chance of transmission. The mask is limited protection.
Overall, the government shouldn't be legislating anything with regards to masks and the general public should not be upset over asymptomatic people not wearing masks.
