I don't even think it's funny, it's just sad.
The team that has the most problems with bringing in fans is Toronto.
If you want a serious Canadian travel tip, then a Roughriders game in Regina is a fucking experience. They are hardcore about their team and the friendliest people in the country.
You will have the best time of your life and end up hammered.
A Stamps game is a similar experience.
The Argos though, and I say this as a man whose blood is double blue, is not the same experience. It feels plastic and commercial.
That's for a team that has the best facilities in the league, the largest potential fanbase and a long line of ex-players who are popular in the community.
Yet the head office is in Toronto and they're just as clueless and out-of-touch as the Argos, if not worse.
The CFL is the oldest sports league in Canadian history and it will be a sad day if it folds.
They need to rediscover their roots, and fast.
The Eskimos are a fan-owned team, and their fans aren't the people who turned it into Cuckmonton.
The CFL's desire to appeal to people who aren't fans, over the people who are die-hard might kill it.
I don't like it.
