Got this in the inbox today and thought I'd give a heads up to all of you living in condos/apartments in the GTA.
As expected, the libtard regime is pushing on with more mask restrictions after their last attempt (indoor public spaces) went practically unchallenged. The good news is that this is not law, and not even a bylaw since the city council is on break until October. Not sure how much power is under the "Condominium Act" but I'm certain these kinds of restrictions are not enforceable in any way whatsoever. In case of questions, just claim you have "health issues" (you don't even have to explain further) and they won't be able to do jack shit.
Message I got: "Mandatory Common Area Face Mask Policy
The protection of the health and safety of our residents and staff is paramount during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City of Toronto has passed a by-law to make it mandatory to wear a face mask inside public spaces. These by-laws do not apply to condominiums.
On July 23, 2020, Mayor Tory announced that the City expected all condominium corporations and residential buildings in Toronto to require face masks be worn in all interior spaces.
The Board of Directors has decided to follow the lead of the City of Toronto and face masks are now mandatory in the common areas of the building. This decision has been made pursuant to section 117 of the Condominium Act, 1998 which permits a condominium corporation to take steps to address any condition which is likely to cause injury to an individual.
This Policy applies to everyone, including but not limited to owners, tenants, visitors, contractors, real estate agents, and delivery people.
Commencing on July 24, 2020, the following requirements will apply in all common areas:
- Everyone must wear a mask or face covering while in the common areas.
Masks must:
be constructed of cloth, linen or other similar fabric; completely cover the mouth, nose and chin without gapping; fit securely to the head with ties or ear loops; and unless a disposable mask, maintain their shape after washing and drying. A mask, balaclava, bandana or scarf, or other similar item which meets the above requirements is acceptable.
Face coverings must be properly worn and hands should be washed before and after putting on and taking them off.
- The following persons are excluded from this policy: Children under the age of two. Persons who have trouble or are otherwise unable to wear a face covering for medical reasons or reasons of disability, including people who are unable to remove masks without assistance. Persons who are engaged in an athletic, fitness or aquatic activity in accordance with the Emergency Orders. Employees and agents within an area not for public access, or within or behind a physical barrier."
LOL so youre supposed to sleep eat and shit alone with a mask on?
Im done with this garbage society will split into two groups: fucking retards and people who still have a brain
Can't stress this enough
The Toronto bylaw exempts people with medical conditions and doesn’t require you to provide proof. It’s all BS with no teeth.
Exactly, but what's even crazier, is that this condo stuff doesn't even fall under the bylaw, so they can't enforce it, apart from citing an obscure (and as I found out) irrelevant section of the Condominium Act.
Stores could technically deny you entry without a mask since they're private property, but there's no way you can be denied entry into your home regardless of what those idiots want.
I don’t even think private property can deny you entry because of the bylaw which hints at you being able to take a business in front of a human rights tribunal for discrimination against you contrary to the Canadians With Disabilities Act.
IANAL about the specifics but I just know they can’t demand proof that you even have a medical condition or disability.
