From what I've heard it's some Canadian company that did some shady stuff but not much else.

They seem to be the favourite dumping round of various governments (PC & Libs) of taxpayer assets. [SNC-Lavalin was given/sold the crown corp AECL(https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/aecl-sold-for-15m-to-snc-lavalin-1.985786) (Atomic Energy Canada Ltd.) for a whopping $15 Million
