With HIV you aren't and people never were.

HIV is not a respiratory virus, it is a blood-borne virus, so it doesn't require quarantine. If HIV were airborne or respiratory-based, it would have been the worst pandemic of all-time in the 80s because it was way more deadly than the coronavirus. However HIV+ people in Canada are legally required to disclose their HIV+ status if they know they have it if they have penetrative sex without a condom.

Today laws requiring infected people to tell partners so that they can make informed decisions are being struck down.

Where is this happening? Because that is fucked up.

As for the vaccine we're all waiting on for Wuflu, how long have we been waiting for that HIV vaccine? 30 years or so? There has never been a successful vaccine against any corona virus and yet here we are seriously talking about tanking the economy, children's education, social lives, and more for years just in the hope that a vaccine will save us.

This is all a big question mark. We've never created a reliable safe vaccine for any coronavirus. So it is uncharted waters for humanity. And it is crazy that there are lots of people that want cases to go to 0 or wait for this vaccine before we open things up. And yes we haven't created a reliable safe vaccine for HIV though. However we have very effective treatments for HIV. Which is part of the reason why a lot of people in the LGBT community are lowering their guard and being reckless with their behaviour. In the gay community it's bareback this bareback that now.
