Yeah Gamer Game in 2014 seems to be when things really went on a downward spiral. I know for a fact that things were bad as early as 2005. But the situation got way worse. Back in like 2005, I distinctly remember Canadian White Nationalists getting brought to Human Rights Tribunals and thinking that we were living in a police state. And we were. And I'm not a white nationalist but there were some truths and half-truths in what they were saying. And I was hoping for Stephen Harper to beat Paul Martin in 2006 largely because I started to see the erosion of civil liberties in Canada.

But now the government doesn't even need to throw you in jail (though they still are). People are getting doxxed, private enterprises are firing you and blacklisting you from employment for holding the wrong views.

Pierre Trudeau did a lot of damage to our country in 1982 when he put down in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that speech inciting hatred was not protected speech. Speech inciting hatred is very subjective. I don't hate racial minorities. But the court can interpret what you say as inciting hatred if they don't like you or like what you say. And now that SJW ideology seeped into the culture, they don't even have to throw you in jail anymore to de-person you.
