Politicians don't go into politics to serve the public. They go into politics to enrich themselves, their family, their friends, etc. If I ran for office with the intention of helping society, Antifa would firebomb my house, plant a carbomb outside my campaign office or the government would just straight up throw me in jail for "inciting hatred" completely up to the judge's interpretation of the "inciting hatred" exemption for freedom of expression in the Charter. They would make an example out of politicians who strayed too far from the unwritten line.
