In a cruel twist of fate and irony it's the "knew I was gonna be a cop" cliche Dudley Do-Derp "wanted to make a difference" people that mean it who are suddenly hearing no units ID when they call to clear air and request all avail units @code 3 in the real world.
The "good apples" get smushed the hardest and fastest.
They're unapologetically fucked harder to send a message, too.
I mean, the NYPD are some of the worst when it comes to abandoning their own: ignored 10-33 or "I didn't see anything" after Hillary Clinton's tweeting the hit contract, billed as a suicide.
