A Monster-Theory based English course eh?
Of all the pop-literature shit I've ever heard, that has to set a world record.
Now she's centered that around BLM, Transphobia, Homophobia, Fatphobia and "Sorophobia."
I'd actually love to sit in on this woman's classes because that course is clearly going to be insane. I'm curious as to what monsters in modern (I probably shouldn't call it) literature she's going to base her course around.
I'd actually suspect that this English course doesn't even require any reading. It mentions that it will be centred around the visual, oral and written which generally means you spend the thousands of dollars that you spent to be there watching old movies then listening to some nerd-hippy drone on about the significance of the characters.
This particular one seems to be focused on vampires and zombies which is a major theme in that pop-book. The idea is essentially that Republicans see Democrats as being vampires (perverted, satanic, bloodsuckers looking to corrupt the young with fancy words) and Democrats see Republicans as being zombies (retarded people who lurch about mindlessly engaging in repetitive behaviours that spread their pattern of behaviour and mindlessness to otherwise intelligent people through contact.)
(There's a reason that hardcore lefties and feminists in academia fucking love that book because it implies that they're dangerously intelligent and sexy based on politics alone when in real life, they're the dumbest members of the institution and the ones who do the least work.)
I'd bet (5 gallons of the worst beer you've ever tasted) that prof shows Twilight as a part of her course and talks about how it differs from Beowulf because one was released during Bush's Presidency and the other was released during Obama's.
The state of English classes these days. I'm desperate to see how she relates vampires to AIDS "discrimination" though, so I'd sit in.
