You can like a black person on an individual level while recognizing the macro-level problems in the black community. Someone like me can't talk frankly about race without being called a Nazi. But Leslyn Lewis can talk frankly about race and at worst she'd be called Aunt Jemima but never a Nazi. So strategically, I think she'd be good for de-brainwashing black Canadians who have been told for years that only the Liberals care about them and the Liberals are there to help them. When the Liberal Party has taken them for granted and made their lives worse.
