Completely outrageous.
We don't have many nice things in Canada. We don't have anywhere near enough statues, and the ones that we have should be cherished. I actually remember the first time I saw that statue and it was excellent.
The vilification of Sir John A. disgusts me as well. He is our country's founder and one of the greatest Prime Ministers we've ever known.
The Canadian railway was a great achievement and without it Canada would not exist. The way he managed such a daunting task was truly incredible.
I never thought I'd see the day when some fucking retarded kids tore down his statue for no reason other than it was a quarantine, they were bored and they'd been told that hating on Sir John A was rebellious and cool.
It's just disgusting. Absolutely disgusting and there was no reason why this was allowed to happen. The Montreal police arrest 200 people on a good Saturday night, it isn't like there was a jail capacity issue and it wasn't like the crowd was large or particularly scary.
This could have all been dealt with but for some reason the authorities allowed a small crowd of violent idiots to destroy a National monument.
It's just disgraceful.
