Is the virus mutating to be less severe? Because Northern Italy and probably Wuhan got REKT'd earlier this year. And yet I'm noticing that the death to case ratio in Spain as of late is quite low. And new cases have been high in Spain for quite awhile now. jUsT WaIt tWo wEeKs!
It's also very possible that doctors are not using ventilators as much anymore. How many people did the ventilators kill? We have treated respiratory illnesses like influenza, pneumonia, other coronaviruses, etc. for decades. How could doctors not know that ventilators kill people by now?
I don't know specifically about COVID but I'll share some old information I remember from my university days.
Basically it's not in a virus's best interests to kill their host. They need you to stay alive so that they can use you to continue reproducing so what ends up happening is overtime a virus will evolve to be less harmful to it's host organism. From what I understand the Spanish Flu never actually ended it just evolved to stop killing it's host as much. Strains that descended from the original pandemic are now just a normal part of flu season.
Thank you. Spread this to people in real life and tell them to spread it too.
