Yup. I don't see why this article is at all controversial. Is it shocking to hear that Irish and Scottish people were absorbed in to Dane society? Or that some Saami, or Rus were, too? The Vikings left graffiti in Constantinople, even. They traveled, they took slaves, they took wives, and they had many children.
