Possible. Hard to say. I don't think religion is going to have the grip it had. I do think religion should re-invent itself...because right now our "gods and kings" are Instagram Models with fat fucking assess and "anti-christ" like figures promising everything in exchange for your soul.
Same here. It wasn't until I was in my 30s that I realized that despite being 100% aethiest, I fully adhere to judeo-christian values, 100%. This is the pillar of western society. So much of our laws are ultimately derived from the bible.
Of course to me it's all fake, but has some great morals for the story. Sort of like a fable. I know it's not true, but there's something good to teach.
It makes a lot of sense that religion has been used for millennia to create a civilized society. Christian values are still held in high regard by Western countries today. Don't murder, don't steal, don't lie, don't cheat, honour your family, treat other people the same as how you want to be treated. That last point is lost on many people. For the alt left, it seems all of the points are lost.
Now you have people that denounce religion (except Islam), yet unwittingly they follow the religion of social justice movements like BLM, Greta Thunberg, or whatever the flavour of the week is. They follow these groups just like people follow religion. They can do no wrong as long as they are committing an act in its name. Burning down a police station - fine it's for a good cause. Anyone who does not agree with you is a heathen, or a "nazi white supremacist" as they say. It's like the Spanish Inquisition all over again.
I doubt the "leaders" of those groups even realise this. First instill a set of beliefs, then get people to meet up and protest and riot (equivalent of having mass and praying), then on the side meet friends, have events and parties, all while creating a sense of community ONLY for those involved.
I myself am not religious but I was raised Catholic.
I have Lutheran and Orthodox roots but I despise the RCC on principle. Baptized both my kids in the mountains but day to day more of a techno-Buddhist whatever that is.
If it came down to the wire I would say yes I am a Christian. It is way more complicated than that for me. I would say I'm more spiritual with a Christian leaning/upbringing. I do like some aspects of Buddhism as well. I still have much to learn about religion to be honest. I do believe God exists for multiple reasons. 1. It is better to believe in God than to not believe in God. It is a 50/50 chance God exists. I'm not a betting man (especially with stakes as high as eternal damnation) 2. Humanity has survived countless wars, plagues, famines, natural disasters, and hardships. I can't think of any good reason other than God for us to make it through all that and still be around. 3. Human consciousness/Human ideas. How did humans come up with Science? Technology? Engineering? Math? Lots of the details are lost in prerecorded history. Some questions we still have no modern day answers to. All that said though I keep in mind religions are story/fable based to convey a message. Most religions want to get across the message to be a good person. The theory Tim Pool talked about was interesting. He sees all religions are like people looking through a keyhole. Each one gets a glimpse at the truth behind the door but not one person sees the whole truth. Hence some similarities in religions.
I agree. I don't know how one can look around in the world and not see the need for a God (specifically the Christian God) and the presence of good and evil. So much timeless truth and relevance for us in the Bible, especially for times like these.
It's time for another Crusade boys
Not religious, but totally understand now why religion is/was necessary.
I am one of them. I think some are but I am assuming it's a very small number of people.

Re-brand, Re-image...whatever corporate buzzword you want to use.

The way Jordan Peterson taught the bible (in his bible series) is how it should be.
I'm a hypocrite catholic
I'm a stand up guy, I'm pretty sure I'm going to heaven.
Even if you’re not from a Christian family you should still worship God these days
I'm atheist. I am very much starting to see how important religion is for a populace to have a purpose, community and a moral foundation.

I am more and more actualy
I have Lutheran and Orthodox roots but I despise the RCC on principle. Baptized both my kids in the mountains but day to day more of a techno-Buddhist whatever that is.
I’m Christian. Almost afraid to say it these days in this country though...
Once the suffering hits, there will be more converts. There are no atheists in foxholes.
