The CAF buying tear gas doesn't necessarily mean anything. The Army uses tear gas pretty extensively in training - both for gas mask training and just to fuck the troops around in the field. Like I wouldn't even be able to count how many tear gas grenades I've had thrown at me in Petawawa and Meaford, or how many I've thrown at people.
For this to mean anything, you'd have to figure out if the amount they're purchasing is exceptional, rather than just routine stock replenishment.
Nobody's asking you to trust them. I'm just pointing out that there's nothing unusual or suspicious about the army buying tear gas.
The army buys bullets too. If you found the receipt for an army bullet purchase, that wouldn't be an indication that the army plans on massacring Canadians, it would just mean they were running low on bullets.
I can't see them ever ordering expendable munitions like gas grenades in numbers as low as 2000.
Yeah, tear gas has an expiration date (don't ask me how long the shelf life is) meaning even if stocks aren't used, new tear gas will need to be purchased periodically.
Saw a thread where somebody ran the NATO stock number. It's for those small capsules they put on a hot plate when they do the annual gas hut training. Start worrying when they actually order replacements for those fucking useless Brownings.
Yes, of course, if the government was planning something nefarious, they would let out a Request for Proposal in the public domain.
The CS capsules are identified by the following DODIC and NSNs: DODIC: K765, Riot Control Agent CS Capsule, NSN: 1365-01-464-9318 (USMC), NSN: 1365-00-690-8656 (Army) Description: The CS (ortho-chlorobenzylidene malono-nitrile) riot control agent capsule is procured to a Government Technical Data Package (TDP), and consists of a 00 size gelatin capsule filled with ground CS riot control agent. The filled capsule should weigh no less than 0.58 grams. The major pertinent characteristics of the CS are that the CS should have a particle size of less than 840 microns. The CS should be at least 96% pure by weight; and the CS should melt at no less than 93.0 C and no more than 96.5 C. Fifty CS capsules are packed in a resealable metal can. This CS riot control agent is used in training scenarios for troops to become familiar with the effects of the agent.
Do the math. 0.58 grams x 36000 = 20 Kg.
OMFG!!!!! The CF is ordering 20 kg of training capsules!!!! Patriots, grab your rifles!!!! Seriously, could somebody do 10 minutes of research before posting this garbage?
