The problem with denial of original sin is why, or better yet, how could a perfectly good God create creatures that offend Him so readily? That tend towards evil to the point of nearly desiring it? Then denying us Heaven after death if we did not overcome the evil nature He gave us? Wouldn’t that make God a cruel master?

The answer is that God made Adam and Eve perfect, their natures did not tend towards sin and we know they had perfect control of their passions via their intellect. How did we get the way we are then? And the answer is original sin. It permanently damaged human nature so now our passions tend to flare up unreasonably and we have a tendency towards evil. This is why God sent Jesus Christ, to open the gates of heaven and give us the Catholic Church to help us to repair the damage to our natures by grace. To give us the tools to save ourselves through His sacrifice.

Rant done but the point being is this feeling or need for religion is inbuilt in us. If we do not fill it with truth, we will fill it with anything we feel can fill the void, in this persons case, climate change.
