We are damned if we do, damned
If we don’t. I guess the best way to make change is probably to get together good people and invade the con party. Starting a new party seems like a futile effort, though I think with good leadership and funding, would be a lot more successful than the PPC. The problem in Canada is your average Canadian does not do much research about who or what they’re voting for and many of those who have some idea still only get what they hear from the TV. So taking over the con party is probably the best bet for change. That being said that’s probably easier said than done because you have to work your way through the party is my understanding. It’s certainly not like the USA where you can run for president and actually have a shot. If anyone has any ideas regarding this please chime in because if we don’t get better politicians/politics soon Canada is done, it may already be too late.
Thanks for the history on that, I didn’t know about the reform party. Well that gives me some hope that we can have a new party step in and become real conservatives. I agree the PPC can do that the issue now I feel is can they have strong enough leadership to even get some seats? Combined with the media arguably election meddling by denying them a platform for so long during the last election, I do wonder if there can be a real repeat of the history of the reform party? Do things need to get even worse before people start looking at an alternative to the cons? Many Canadians don’t like the libs but they will be voting con to counter it because in their minds the cons are better than the libs, which they might be, but not by much. Do we need another con gov in that will let us down to get Canadians to truly consider another party? How much time do we have left before the country implodes under the guidance of the current gov and the UN is called in to restore order and officially induct us into the new world order?
