That is a good way to put it, haha
You're not allowed to speak your mind on reddit anymore. I've been banned from r/toronto since that barrie family stood up to immigrants that pushed their children and threw their elderly mother to the concerit and yet they were accused of a hate crime. I was then banned from r/canada today for telling a self proclaimed rcmp member it's okay to wear the patch with a blue line through the canadian flag.
I got banned from /r/saskatoon for making jokes. There was article about how some "local far-right group recruiting people" (there was a bunch of fliers distributed around down town, as in posted on bus stops and light posts). The group itself seemed like a "Sons of Odin" type group, which to be honest, I have no idea what that even entails, I just don't know enough (going to assume some hard nationalist types). Anyway I made the joke that "it seems like everything is white supremacy these days - opinion I don't agree with? white supremacy. can't get a job? - white supremacy. flat tire? white supremacy". Well...the downvotes came, then they saw my post history and saw I posted on metacanada. Permanently banned. No right to appeal, nothing. Goddamn U of S trash.
It happened at Canada wonderland. They called it a hatecrime with their names published and then determined it wasn't a hate crime later. But that stigma sticks once published. https://www.blogto.com/city/2019/07/canadas-wonderland-hate-crime-attack/
Freedom and prosperity type stuff is better for everyone than being poor and controlled and miserable.
This is a website, not a sub.
It's better for someone to be poor and miserable because of their own bad decisions than simply existing and content because of government enabling.
anti-globalist. Trump has proven that the bought politicians have intentionally sabotaged our countries.
Diefenbaker.
Praise kek
Health Care: Universal Health Care which, no one wants to address in this country. Does it work? Sure. Is the care of the highest quality? God no. I saw the arguments for the "2-Tier" health system, as in, private for those who can afford, universal for those who can't. I think that would be a good idea to entertain. We also definitely seem to have a "brain drain" problem in our country. My parents accused me of being racist because I wanted to find a "Canadian Born" and "Canadian University educated" doctor. Fuck me for being skeptical over the medical credentials from a Doctor from Nigeria...
Finally: Just leave me the hell alone. I hate how political I've become. But just leave me and everyone alone, let everyone be free to decide what's best for them. Don't force shit on me. The "Lefty Causes" I used to support - I've dropped. All LGBT and whatever the fuck they call themselves now, can just shut the fuck up and fuck off. I've never seen accusations of racism thrown around so much in my life. These problems seemed to have been "fixed" for awhile growing up - It was understood that "while we may look different, we're all equal", it was also taught that "Your life is full of choices and its up to you to decide what's best for you - society is built on your merit". Why the fuck is that so controversial? I don't think about race, period. There was a nazi philosopher who said something along the lines of "I have a dream, that we'll live in a world where you are not judged on the color of your skin, but the content of your character". All these "causes" have done everything to discredit themselves. Occupy Wall Street, Idle No More, etc etc etc...I don't care. I just don't care. I spent a majority of my 20s building myself to the point where I'm at now. I'm within a few years of being married, having a mortgage and having kids. Well there was plenty of whining and anger and "this isn't fair!" along the way, I was entirely in charge of my fate. I worked fucking hard to get where I am, My expectations are that "YOU" do the same.
I'm gong to write a few of these
Drill baby Drill: The hinderance of the O&G industry in Canada is a serious problem. My brother got into the oil industry around 07 and man...business was booming. The guy made a bunch of money. The 2014 fall was bad and it hasn't recovered since then. Then a bunch of stupid idiot Liberals put in some really dumb legislation making it even more difficult for oil companies to do their jobs - and a bunch of em have now pulled out of the country. Rex Murphy in 2013? Did this speech in Calgary about how beneficial the O&G Industry is, how it basically saved the East Coast which had its fishing industry decimated...by the government, and how O&G gave lower working class people, so much prosperity and a chance to "rise" out and become upper middle class. That speech changed my entire point of view on O&G, after being fed the lies of "OIL BAD, GREEN GOOD". Why the hell are we stifling our cash cow industry? Especially since we want all these nice social programs and shit...well...if we want to emulate the Norwegian Model, better starting looking to see how Norway funds their social programs (Big hint: Oil). Same thing applies to all the "dirty industries". Regulate them to a point, but don't hinder the entire industry because "women might be effected in the small town".
A government for the people bound by law.
Traditionalism and Nationalism.
There was no other point to NAFTA but to open up for Mexican slave labor markets. Meanwhile you ship anything from the USA and find out how free that "free trade" actually is. Call me a cynic, it's true.
