Hey y'all. Torontofag reporting here. New to the board (found it from thedonald.win) so please bear with me, i are an autist.
SO I've been hanging out with some of the organizers of the huge anti-mask/freedom marches that have been going on here recently, which are spearheaded by the magnificent Chad pictured here, a guy that goes by the name of Chris Sky. If you don't know about him yet, google him.
So the movement seems to be picking up a lot of steam recently and Chris has been gaining notoriety in conservative circles all over the country. ANYWAY last night I was invited to a small after party for the protest that had some of that group's inner circle in it and they were saying some very interesting shit.
So apparently Chris Sky has been contacted by some of the old conservative guard in the city/province/country have reached out to him and want him to run for office. He's also been talkinv with some prominent business leaders with deep pockets and they also want him to run.
Last night the mood among Chris' closest circle was equal parts joyful celebration, triumphant expectation, and hope for what's to come.
Good. I hope that Chris explodes onto the scene. Even though I think that he's doing this for profit (Ahem, the new non-profit that he runs), the message is right. I respect entrepreneurs and he's a good one.
Looks like a degenerate. And our political system is a joke, so 'running for office' just means you are looking for a pension. There's no power for people that run for office to effect change. You do what the party leader says or you get kicked out. You tow the line or you get shit on and run out of politics or take the fall for what everyone else does. There are MPs that have been drummed out for having orange juice on flights while you get people like Trudeau stealing and giving to everyone publicly with multiple ethics violations as the PM. It doesnt matter what crimes are committed as long as you are in favour of the party leader. And the party leader is chosen by members of the party - all of whom are paid for members by corporations and lobby groups that flood the ballot box to put their leader in power.
So any asshole that runs for office is just looking for part of the action or a government pension for couple years service. They arent good people. They arent going to make any changes. They arent going to affect policy or spending or budgets or stop GBA+ and other diversity bullshit.
Yeah, I wish him luck and hope he gains some traction, maybe there is some appeal among certain groups with him but I can't see him going far. Some is better than none I suppose. Not sure he has the experience for anything beyond protesting the lockdowns and regurgitating the typical talking points, sad that is better than most of what we have these days. I try not to judge a book solely by its cover but the tattoos, partying and plastic wife aren't a good look.

How do you run for office and not become that which you ran against?
Power corrupts and everybody is susceptible to its influence.
