There seems to be a schism between the user base of this site and some aspects of the current moderation.

My usual feeling is that when groups of people don't get along they should try to go their own separate ways.

With that in mind, how many folks here would be interested in a site with similar functionality, but more freedom from moderation. It's my opinion that moderation is there to prevent criminal activity and destructive use of the service, like spam. Nothing more. That's just my opinion. You should feel free to express what kind modding you think is best. There are trade offs for having fewer rules.

I really like the rough and tumble atmosphere and group of people here, even many who I disagree with. I don't want to contribute to fracturing something I enjoy, but I think having a frank discussion about how people want to be able to talk is a good thing.
