John Tory was also all too happy to get involved and make an example of the Adamson Barbecue owner with a ridiculously disproportionate show of force for 3 days, then tried to get the courts to saddle the owner with the bill for policing costs.

I'm guessing it has more to do with bringing exposure to antilockdown voices.

I've only started watching his content recently, but I know he attended qnd vlogged some of the Montreal protests earlier in the spring.

I'm surprised the Greens are projected in third at 12%, in front of the Conservatives and the BQ.

Must be a riding with funny demographics.

I went down a rabbit hole earlier in the week and read the Wikipedia page of Grigori Rasputin of Boney M fame.

He was born as a Siberian peasant in 1869 where seven of his other siblings didn't survive to adolescence and there may have been a ninth sibling whose existence is unconfirmed.

It's simply not possible for us modern minds to truly appreciate what it was like to exist in a pre-antibiotics world, which makes all of the unmarked graves retconning all the more bullshit.

I've seen several posts on Twitter from Canadian doctors reporting serious vaccine adverse effects to their local Health Units, only to receive smug form letters back from the Medical Officers of Health stating they independently assessed the reported events and deemed that they didn't "meet the criteria" for known adverse effects.

All without reviewing medical records, examining patients or performing diagnostic tests or interviewing the physician for further information.

One such letter I saw stated that "we've already taken the liberty to contact the patients themselves and told them to proceed with their second dose ASAP".

One of the doctors was actually from Lytton BC that just burned down.

Dr. Christos Karatzios, a pediatric infectious diseases doctor at Montreal Children's Hospital, said if one thing is clear during COVID-19, it is that the vaccines are working and people are vulnerable until they get both doses of any two vaccines.

"Mixing and matching, who cares," he said. "Just get two vaccines into people."

These experts are real sticklers for sticking to the scientific method.

I doubt any information from First Nations themselves is going to be balanced and less propagandized in this day and age.

For example, Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island officially changed the spelling of their name in 2014 to Wiikwemkoong, just because.

I don't personally watch him (I learned about him through Matt Christiansen's YouTube stream) but Viva Frei, a lawyer out of Montreal, seems interesting.

He did some based coverage of the large weekend antilockdown protests in Montreal awhile back.

A provincial judge this week struck down some of his legislation limiting third party spending and advertising for campaigning outside of the prescribed election period.

He called the provincial legislature back to try to use the NWC to squash third party funding again before the next election while the decision is being appealed in court.

It's mostly to put spending limits on what unions can spend to defame him in-between elections.

“The school has reported the account and has made Edmonton Police Service aware of it as well,” a statement from the board to Global News said. “There is zero tolerance for hate-filled accounts and posts like this.”

The "hate" the school board is referencing in this quote is an Instagram account saying White Lives Matter, posting Martin Luther King Jr quotes and calling out bullshit anti-racist programming in the curriculum.

Another example of how "hate" and "hate crime", likely racism/Nazi/fascism/misogyny/transphobe etc, are terms that can't be trusted and have lost all meaning.

Also makes you skeptical when the London Police Chief immediately calls out the truck incident as a "hate crime" and "terrorism" in the national news without releasing a shred of evidence

Yup, this is still totally about a pandemic and a respiratory virus

On this reserve in Australia, the government at some point had built an entire subdivision of modern homes beside the desert highway like you'd see in any Canadian suburb.

Except all of the new homes were sitting empty and abandoned and covered in graffiti and full of bullet holes because community members absolutely destroyed them.

I'd never see anything like it. It was the closest thing I've ever experienced that looked like a warzone.

They are also accountable to no one.

They get split funding from the province and your local municipality in Ontario.

But somehow, whatever portions of their budget aren't covered by the province, the budget shortfall is legally mandated to be covered by your local municipal tax dollars even though your municipality has no oversight or jurisdiction over the Health Units operation or finances.

So the province pays for whatever they feel like. The Health Unit then submits a budget to your local city council with whatever shortfall is left. Your local city council then asks your local Medical Officer of Health is any efficiencies can be found. Your local MOH then tells your local city council to get bent and pay me whatever I ask.

I spent some time on a reserve in Australia.

No one from the community wanted to better themselves because those that tried just had other community members come squat in their house and steal and break their shit because "sharing" was part of the "culture"

Veltman has no previous criminal history. Police do not yet know if he was a member of any hate groups and officials did not describe what evidence they had found confirming that this was a planned attack.

It should be illegal to make broad accusations of terrorism and hate crimes without also releasing the evidence you've gathered.

Don't want to tip your hand before the trial? Then stfu and just do your job until then.

It's really hard to appreciate and try to retcon how things used to be in different eras than our own.

Your comment made me think about the life of Rudyard Kipling, author of The Jungle Book.

He was born in 1865 to British parents in India. At the age of 5, along with his 3-year-old sister, his parents sent him back to England, as apparently was custom, to live with another couple and go to boarding school.

Apparently he was abused by his foster family for seven years before his mother finally came back from India to pick him up.

And this all was done voluntarily by British aristocrat parents that thought "this was best for him". This had nothing to do with religion or racism or government overreach or genocide.

Children were just valued differently back in the day.

Another example of systemic racism as the white man purposely didn't invent antibiotics to cure TB until decades later!

The courts haven't protected/upheld dick all so far for anything COVID.

Not sure why you are so confident that this is their line in the sand to break the streak.

Oral ivermectin isn't very commonly used in outpatient medicine in Canada.

The only doctor's prescribing it would likely be infectious disease doctors in hospital and possibly the odd dermatologist.

It is more readily available in forms designed to be applied to the skin for skin conditions, but that won't do you any good in terms of COVID.

I saw he locked the thread on men's mental health and suicides and deleted half of the based comments pointing out inconvenient facts.

And then of course berated r/canada members for being "hateful"

Ahmad told reporters that Yassin was in and out of hospital after contracting COVID-19 in mid-January and the day before his death he was complaining of having difficulty breathing, chest pain and soreness.

That's the problem with these medical stories is that you only ever get whatever info the family or the patient chooses to reveal since any medical personnel involved are bound by confidentiality, even if there are outright lies or omissions.

There's still something big missing from the story, but the arrest last February for a felony starts to paint a picture that this wasn't just your average 19-year-old
