Can we not get a sticky thread going for omega users of the businesses they run / skills they can offer? That if you are a business owner you could create another account under that name and we can get a “local” directory going. I would much rather be supporting any of you guys than those we are currently being forced to rely on.

Just an idea.

There is a lot of talk about covid and vaccines lately, Im no doctor but I have been observing sick people for decades and at the risk of being hypocritical and sharing my thoughts with strangers online, I would like to explore the real covid threat. An illness that has impacted us all, a disease that shows no signs of slowing. I dont want to talk about Bill Gates' wet dreams, I instead want to talk about the real illness.

Lets first define the symptoms. Do you experience fear, anxiety, loneliness, depression, nihilism, rage, hatred, selfishness, lying, hypocrisy, inconsistency, confusion? The list is long and this disease effects us all differently. Unfortunately this illness has crept in like a thief in the night and very few are immune to it, some are more resilient than others but eventually it wears on even the strongest of us. Youll notice symptoms in a variety of ways, most commonly it is noticeable - first thing in the morning, right after the grog has lifted and the days responsibilities poke their head up. At the first presentation of new information. When interacting with opposing views, and finally, the moments just before nodding off to lala land. Sometimes the symptoms creep in and slowly take hold of you and other times it is like getting hit by a bus. It is nothing to be ashamed of, just like assholes and opinions we all have encountered the illness, so dont beat yourself up champ. Whether your a thick necked hobby operator or a sleep deprived single mother, the illness has made its way into our lives, homes, and bodies.

Where did it come from? Some pose that it was here from the time of Eden, others say it was an evolution of civilization, some call it a conspiracy theory and others think its only just begun. Really though, its origins dont matter right now, that should be a discussion for another day. What does matter is how and why it has so much power. Let me ask you, what is the difference between reaction and response? I like to think about it like this, a reaction is somewhat chemical, it is unstable and uncontrolled, once the reaction has started it is difficult to contain, like baking soda and vinegar, while a response is calculated, thorough, harnessed, it does not leave much to the unknown. We like to think ourselves as masters of our own mind and body but the reality is were often caught off guard, more than wed like to admit. How often are you reacting vs responding? More importantly, how often are you aware of what you should be responding to vs what was designed to capture your emotions and force a reaction from you? Probably a lot more than you think.

We turn on the news, check social media, shitpost, and have podcasts/youtube playing in the background all throughout our day. We are continually inundated with information, information that we ourselves have no way of corroborating, no direct connection to, and yet despite the distance separating us from the information that we voluntarily expose ourselves to, its power is still enough to divide homes, break trust, sully relationships, allure baseless judgements and strip away integrity. Unfortunately the viral infection rate of this illness is beyond anything we have seen before, we transmit the illness to nearly all we encounter once the symptoms are present. Innocent bystanders are caught in the wake of uncontrolled reactions set off by what is essentially an adult game of "telephone" from unknown sources, all due to misplaced allegiances. Whether your reaction comes out in the form of disdain, distrust, disharmony, or disillusion, in the end what is left is a weakened foundation that will someday collapse under the weight of ghosts.

So what is the cure? I wish I knew, I wish I had a vaccine for the modern world. I wish I could pause and take a step back. Oh wait, I can...

This post may just be ramblings to most of you, this may be a wasted thread for a lunatic, but I wanted to share my lunacy with you all, and see if I am as alone as the media and internet say I am. I wanted to share this experiment to see if my ramblings are on the right course, and see where they need to be refined. I purpose this, to unplug for one day a week from all things not immediately in my life. No information, no entertainment, no interaction with the online world. And instead use that day to double down in my personal life, spend that day with my family and friends, spend it trying to clear the junk mail folder of my mind and remind myself of what truly matters, the here and now. The goal is to soon make that one unplugged day a week, then a month, and then eventually complete sobriety. I may not be immediately successful but I will one day be rid of this virtual hell hole we have found ourselves in.

Finally, why does this matter and how is this not just some weak retard whining about how he doesnt like the internet? I am starting to think that the only reason we find ourselves in this position is because of the internet and how it facilitates our insatiable need to be validated, have community, and share our opinions. This has naturally caused division, is the perfect tool for misinformation and propaganda, caused us to think that we are both higher and lower than we truly are, and stirred in us all a sense of inflated ego. The difference between right and wrong has become subjective, the line between love and hate is blurred, we are becoming a hive mind and do so as if we are the ones originating these ideals and principles that we so blindly cling to, it is the ultimate manipulation machine. So what happens when I disengage? What happens when me and my family continue life blissfully unaware of the simulated pissing contest? Will we be more prepared for the future? Will we be like the audience watching the magicians instead of the show? Or, will we become luddites and be washed ashore abandoned as the tides continue without us? Ill find out eventually. Thanks for reading my diary entry. Much love.
